I know, I know! Peach season is nearly over. You’ll want to make a batch of this Peach Freezer Jam before local peaches are gone. It’s easy and it’s good to have a hostess gift in the freezer in a pinch. The recipe uses Limoncello. If you don’t have limoncello you have 3 options. Buy it because it has so many uses, in addition to simply sipping. Make a batch because it’s the perfect holiday hostess gift. Lastly, substitute it with water, orange or pineapple juice. I’d suggest the second option and here is the recipe. Surprise! I added a tiny bit of heat using locally produced Home Sweet Homegrown hot sauce. You don’t need to add the hot sauce but I preferred it. The amount in the recipe is minimal, taste as you go.
- 1 pound peaches, skin removed, pitted and chopped
- 1 - 1½ cups organic sugar
- ¼ cup limoncello
- ½ cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 box (1.75-ounces) powdered fuit pectin
- 5 tablespoons Home Sweet Homegrown hot sauce
- Bring the peaches, sugar, limoncello, orange juice and lemon juice to a boil.
- Stir in the pectin and boil for 1 minute, stirring. Stir in the hot sauce.
- Spoon into freezer safe jars, leaving ½” space and cap. Keep refrigerated overnight to set.
- Keep refrigerated up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 1 year.
This looks similar to one I just made but I used grand Marnier instead. I also didn’t add hot sauce—nice twist!
yum! YUM!! Love that pairing….thanks for sharing (hehehe)
