Though there was no red carpet, guests were given the paparazzi treatment at my Oscar Gold Party. The party plan required guests to wear their most casual, comfy clothes but to bring the sparkle. I was tickled to see how guests arrived. Please be sure to see that one gal came with gloves and a tiara.
the menu
roasted red pepper, mozzarella & tomato salad
basil, mozzarella & tomato salad
smoked salmon tea sandwiches
roasted beet hummus
olive and stuffed grape leaves
veggies with tzatziki
feta & dill quinoa cakes
sweet bbq bourbon turkey sliders
guests brought fabulous cheese, ebelskivers and bruschetta
drinks
3 mixed drink options: the cooper, honest abe and the sticky buns shot
sweets
oooo…. kupkake kouture cupcakes
fruit
my citrus rosemary citrus shortbread
my drink… champagne with st germain, fresh raspberries & mint
the sparkle…it’s fun when everyone plays along
and then there were awards
we gave awards based on votes for best hair and makeup, best glasses (matt won that vote and went home with a bath and body set), best drama queen, and best accessories. guests were asked to bring a white elephant gift and those were the prizes. the most coveted award for the evening… the golden oscar my husband also scrolled and I spray painted and hung on black ribbon.
before guests left we had to get the ‘stache on
and not without their swag bags… filled with a theatre candy, popcorn, chocolates, ‘giants of california’ zinnias, Honeybee Gardens satin sheets mineral eye shadow (my personal fav eye color) and mimosa jojoba lip balm, and Oribe hair product samples (Bell Tower Salon and Spa carries).
