Lititz makes for the perfect “get a quick change of scenery” day trip. It is only about 30 minutes from the Reading area. There are so many places to visit for noshing. Here are a few quick pics from our recent visit to the Tomato Pie Cafe.
We were recently in town for the Lititz in the Park craft show when we grabbed our lunch as take-out from Tomato Pie. I’ve also noshed at Tomato Pie Cafe when things were not so hectic for a girls afternoon out.
I can tell you that the fresh lemonade is a refreshing, sweet, and tangy. Love it. This little shop is cozy with character. The servers are dressed in period dress and are always sunny and attentive.
There is also patio seating, in a quaint garden, just behind the main dining area. Eat outdoors, if you can… you can always eat inside.
On our recent visit Dan, ordered the grilled cheese and really dug it. I had the veggie hummus wrap and loved it! It was enough for two. It id not get soggy and was still warm with the cold hummus.
On previous visits, we had the tomato pie (highly recommended), soup (yum) and turkey sandwich. You will find me to be a turkey snob. I think formed lunch meat is gross and when the menu reads” roasted turkey breast” and you ask the server, because you will not like processed/pressed turkey lunch meat, to clarify and they confirm with certainty that the turkey is freshly roasted… then it turns out to be that weird lunch meat… Skip the turkey.
There are desserts galore here!! How can you of too wrong? I have not tried any of the sweets …yet.
