What an odd day. The anticipation of dinner with the girls kept me going. We had a date at Hong Thanh Restaurant. It was a dining for a cause kinda night. Since 1993 the Good Thyme for Life event has been hosted by many Reading area restaurants. A portion of the night’s sales benefit the Co-County Wellness Services. Each restaurant also has many raffle items, donated by area businesses, to help raise funds. I hope everyone else loses the overnight & dinner package at the Crowne Plaza AND the $60 gift certificate from Bailiwick Hair Salon & Aveda Spa Services….uh, that’s where I put my tickets and no one enters a raffle with the hope of losing.
6 ladies, 6 bottles of wine, spring rolls, chinese egg rolls, cabbage salad, chicken cashew curry, tofu and vegetable noodle soup, chicken curry stew, and Vietnamese coffee. Better than the pics was the company. A new gal was introduced into the fold, Michelle. Straight from the heart of Dallas this chick was a bundle of fun, all cozy in her hubby’s sweater.
My favorite noodle soup with vegetables and tofu followed by some fun with raffle prizes.
To the left sweet and sour dressing on a chicken and cabbage salad. The other dish happened to be the most popular dish of the evening, chicken curry.
I can no longer resist the Vietnamese coffee, slowly dripped over sweetened condensed milk.
lovely notion
All in all, what a wonderful night with friends for a healthy cause. Now that you know what I was up to head on over to Monday’s Child to see what the other Bloom Girl, Christin Kelley, had on her plate for a good thyme.
