why does it seem such a challenge to make taking care of ourselves a priority? it’s a rhetorical question. we all have excuses and ya know your excuses are as tired and old as mine…so, i politely refuse to listen to yours and decline from sharing mine.
I don’t know many folks who are masters at prioritizing but know some who do make it work. Perfection is never the goal or it shouldn’t be.
TODAY I took a few minutes to do what I enjoy today… played with a new recipe, photographed and blogged it…. lit a made in the USA, cherry spice candle purchased last fall at the area’s premier salon (Bell Tower), opened a box of locally made decadent ganache filled figs, sitting in the sunny room of the house with my feet up!
and…
I opened a prize package won from the Take A Mighty Bite food blogger…. won it many weeks back and put it in a special place in my kitchen as a tease just waiting for the perfect moment…. in reflection it was kinda foolish, right? Instead of enjoying the moment I got lost in chasing the distraction… hoping to change my wayward ways.
p.s.
if you put pretty things on the shelf waiting for that “perfect moment” to enjoy the chocolate can get old, the spice gets lost from the candle and the fancy crackers get stale SO bust open all those pretties today… you can’t buy more candles until you light the ones you have today. not all that profound …. by the way, the best candles are Christina Maser Soy Candles i was in her workspace as she poured the chocolate and mmmm….
