So, HEY! I’m super excited and wanted to share this earlier but the first column printed just before we went on vacation. Let me introduce my new column Live, Love, Bake with Phoebe!, with Reading Eagle Newspaper.
It’s for the Berks Country insert of the Reading Eagle. I’m so excited and hope you enjoy it.
Berks Country is the most popular insert in the Reading Eagle Newspaper (I’m 87% certain that is a fact). It’s my favorite insert in the paper because it’s chock-full of stories about locals, homesteading, gardening, cooking, living tips, farms and farmers, and events. It’s a good news insert.
My column will focus on local eats and the stories behind the recipes. My first story was about Baked Oatmeal. I recorded podcast episode with Terry, the cook at Dave’s Diner, who makes a wicked good Baked Oatmeal. We talked diner and PA Dutch eats. Sadly, I can’t share the printed story here, you must be a subscriber to the newspaper but I did have this photo.
It’s the only photo I can find. I’m going grey, as an aside. I like to use grey versus gray because gray reminds me of gravy and my white hair is far more fabulous that anything reminding me of gravy.
Back to Live, Love, Bake with Phoebe. Keep an eye out for the next story, Cracker Pudding.
If you have a Berks baked recipe or story to share, let me know.
