1. What it is
A 12 ounce, 11 servings bag of granola! It’s slow baked and offered in 4 flavors, Cranberry Pecan, Original, Pumpkin Fig, and Blueberry Hemp.
2. Why I like it
I chose the Blueberry Hemp. Well, duh. My logo is blueberries. I love the color blue and blueberries as a symbol of a superfood. Who wants Original as the first flavor to try? If they can’t get a flavor correct you know Original is not gonna work.
I did not read the ingredients. My expectations did not go beyond the name Blueberry Hemp. I enjoyed a bowl with unsweetened almond milk. It had a hint of coconut. Love the coconut. It stayed crunchy (sometimes I get distracted and walk away). Loved that even though there were sunflower seeds it did not taste like sunflower seed granola. That kind of granola is gross.
This is tasty granola is gluten-free, vegan, free of refined sugar and contains organic raw virgin coconut oil, organic chia, organic quinoa and organic amaranth too! It’s made with 70% organic ingredients.
3. Why you want it
• company stands behind their product
• perfect to snack on from the bag
• yogurt topper
• myfitnesspal won’t give you grief
• There is a huge amount of “natural” or artisanal granola on the market (TONS, actually) but this one has far less refined sugar and a better fat (the coconut oil) alternative. If you are going to indulge in granola (yes, with a calorie dense food it is an indulgence) you might as well indulge well.
4. Where to get it
I bought mine at Kimberton Whole Foods, where I suggest you pick it up. It’s also carried at Wegman’s and Whole Foods. I need to check Giant again.
