restaurant week in west reading

As if the girls needed an excuse to celebrate restaurant week in Reading.   It was the perfect night… the night before the weekend begins … just a tease that relaxation is just around the corner AND to make it even better the Berks County Living May issue highlighted all of our local cupcakeries.  The plan…

• 7 chicks
• Winedown Cafe for dinner and drinks
• each of us picking up 2 cupcakes from one of the local bakeries
• wine (wait did I mention that)
• desserts in the garden of Just Curious

After our light but satisfying dinner we headed to the garden at Just Curious (keep an eye out because I will be back again this spring & summer for “tarts in the garden”).

If you have never been to Brownstone Row (the 5 shops that comprise this bit of a block on Penn, of which Just Curious is a colorful member)… well, pull out your calendar and make a date already!   Oh the treasures you will find in these little shops with goodies tucked in each nook & cranny.

It just so happened that tonight it was cupcakes and mermaids.

featured in the plateful of sugar are the sweets of Ady Cakes ,Cozy Corner, Delish, Russos Market (cannoli), Fields & French Hens, and Kupkake Kouture.   Is there anything better to feed the soul that great company?   After the sun set, the chill set in the air, and plates were cleaned it was time to go… until next time!
