we have a winner! see below…
So here are some of my favorite things… the rules are below. It’s my birthday this week but I want to give you something fun! You have until Friday night for your chance to win. Good luck!
A great read to set your mind straight on what you can do with what you have today … that one step you could be taking that will propel you to attaining your dreams… that’s Because I Can by local author & speaker, Janet Oberhotlzer.
“My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer,” the boy told the alchemist one night as they looked up at the moonless sky.” Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams.” from the Alchemist, by P. Coelho. One of my very favorite books… Know where to find great reads like this? Our very own The Wise Owl Bookstore, where I picked up this copy.
I love cooking with what’s in season and if you struggle with what to do with foods you find at market this is a helpful book. Full of 75 mouthwatering recipes Janet Fletcher makes it easy for you to make seasonal food sensational.
Lastly and best said in Marion’s words (author of Lost Recipes), “We need to lure our families, friends, and neighbors back to the table, to sit down and eat together. It is important that we be in charge again of our cooking, working with fresh, unadulterated ingredients. Enclosed you will find many simple-to-make, good-tasting, inexpensive dishes from the past that taste better than ever today. I urge you to try them.” That’s what you’ll find in her Lost Recipes cookbook.
Microplane, well no duh.
From Phoebe’s Pure Food Pantry, here are organic aduki beans, organic quinoa, organic baby belugas, and organic chia seeds….and a snippet of chocolate.
The best coffee in Berks, freshly roasted, sustainable, and sensational… Max Crema’s. Here is half a pound, whole bean of the crowd favorite.
I love thrifting and find the most interesting items. Lots. Thanks for the new BeautiFull Consignment shop in West Lawn for the 25% off entire purchase coupon! Elizabeth specializes in plus size clothing but also has jewelry, shoes and purses galore!
A friend turned me on to Bauman’s fruit butter. I can only find it at Shady Maple. I love to start my every morning with Fields & French Hen’s bread slathered with the fruit butter. Less sugar that jam or jelly it is fruit concentrated goodness!
We never hand write enough notes anymore. Here is a set to get you started! Your note does not need to be profound just a few words or nonsense are okay!
I’m a freakish note taker and usually take notes by hand…on my hand. Better than that is a note pad that is perfect for purse or car and or so sweet in design. By local illustrator, Melanie Linder, this little design is jus the tip of the iceberg for her creative genius. Find her goodies at Hello Bluebird or her Etsy page, Spread the Love.
Lastly but not leastly, one of my favorite places to shop… Hello Bluebird. I have a piece the owner, Alex, painted and love the whimsy. These are a pair of her handmade earrings and a cute little banner that you just must have for the office or home desk area to party up the space!
…and how can I go without saying… chocolate… mmmm…. Lorah’s Handmade Chocolates. Locally made with love. This is an assorted box of new best friends.

What a fun giveaway! You are so generous, and I hope your birthday week treats you well:-). (Also, I really enjoyed getting to know you a little better by reading about some of your favorite things.)
Some of my favorite things are Equal Exchange coffee with Organic Valley half-n-half (actually, I like anything from either of those brands, I think), California Baby bubbles (my son LOVES them, so maybe it’s more the enjoyment I get from watching him enjoy that is my favorite. Speaking of which…), the sound of my son’s laugh/giggle, Curly Girl Designs cards, coconut flour (ok, anything coconut), and The Best of Clean Eating cookbook.

Oh but I have so many favorite things! Of course my husband and daughter are on the top of the list. I also love apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, green smoothies, phoebe’s tofu, my hydroflask water bottle, Starbuck’s iced green tea, haute chocolate pb chocolate cake, and just about anything from Trader Joes!

Argh! Not enough room to list all of my favorites, but…high on the list is going to sleep with the window open on a cool summer night and feeling a gentle breeze, hearing a nice gentle rain falling, and smelling the clean fresh air. But the best is when I open one sleepy eye and see the four little kitten ears of my fur-babies, Peek-a-Boo and Hopscotch, snuggled closely next to me.
phoebe says
lovely & poetic…
