Ingredients
1 stick (4 ounces) butter
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup whiskey or cream
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it bubbles. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until it just turns golden (about 2-3 minutes).
Add the brown sugar, whiskey or cream, salt and vanilla; stir continuously and low boil for 4 minutes.
Remove from heat, pour into a medium bowl, stirring to cool slightly. Spread over warm cake.
