Stumbled on this little market via facebook and so glad I did. Dan was a good sport on a drive into Lancaster last night. He helped navigate the way to Lemon St. Market. Just a hop jump and a skip off of 222 this little nugget of a food destination invigorated me after my first foot in the door and a deep breath of savory, fresh air.
As an aside, Lancaster is poppin’ with local dining options. I love Rice & Noodles and the sticky sweet, soft green tapioca dessert. You will pass many fun places to visit on your way to Lemon Street. Dan and I also enjoy Iron Hill Brewery (chain but great selection of craft beer). Last night we stopped at Joe’s Famous American Kitchen for burgers…I tried the faux-lafel. OKAY, back to Lemon Street!
The focus of Lemon Street is local foods with a healthy mix of organic products. I was drawn in by the fb photo post of asiago & roasted red onion focaccia and oooo lucky me, I bought the last freshly baked focaccia. I wish there were 2 because I would have put a hole in the top of the 2nd disc, attached a ribbon and used it as a car air freshener. It tastes even better than it smells…thank you MiLi’s Bakery.
I also scored some gluten free flat breads from the Amaranth Gluten Free Bakery. I have not tried these yet but don’t doubt for a minute I don’t have plans for these.
Lastly and because I only had so much cash, whole coffee beans from Counter Culture Coffee. Oh wait, I lie. Had to buy a 4 pack of mini vegan chocochip cookies.
