After our garden tour some of us, with slicker boots on, had some really hot feet. The sun had come out and it was a perfect day for noshing in the garden. Nadia had set a beautiful table close to the house. We brought our own lunch but we were treated to her homemade chai, herbed lemonade, and tea.
Nadia served her elderberry syrup and a deeply rich amber, local honey to sweeten the beverage to our own personal taste. Nice touch to give your guests the sweetness option.
Woody makes another appearance. He was just so sweet.
After gobbling up our lunches Nadia surprised us with dessert. Okay, maybe not surprised… I think she did tell me she would serve dessert but I just forgot so … it was a lovely surprise. She made her berry ice-cream and served with a Food52 lime cornmeal biscotti. She said she had to make adjustments to the biscotti recipe, it was a bit wet. The lime flavor pops in your mouth and the texture was perfect. I just wanted to toss my spoon and scoop the ice cream with the biscotti. The ice-cream was sweet & creamy … heavenly!
Here is her biscotti adjustment…
“I used 1/2 cup more flour. I also used lemon instead of lime because I could not find organic limes. I only shaped it into 1 loaf instead of two”
