I took a bit of extra time gathering (no hunting) produce for lunch this week. Their is a designated pick-up location for my garden fresh goodies from B & H Organic Produce but this week I decided to take the long road… out to her farm and the Hartz Natural Foods Store, in Morgantown. If there was extra time I would have stopped to take gobs of photos because living in Lancaster County is a feast for the eyes.
While at B & H Organic Produce the display of seedlings sucked me in and their long leafy fingers would not let me go until I purchased 9 new heirloom plants. Can’t recall what I bought but will check that out later. So if you still need some plants for your garden …. stop by Hartz.
Oh, and if you see this cat who seems to be charming and playful … watch your bare ankles and do NOT give her any fingers. Just as I was taking this photo she went after my hand and phone. We talked and she followed me to the CSA door and as I was inside gathering my produce she promptly caught a bird and carried her mouthful of feathers under the nearest car. Turns out this kitty’s name is Naughty Girl. Learn from my mistake…
Lunch … organic B &H mixed greens with organic strawberries, feta, oven toasted pancetta, organic quinoa with a homemade, fruity balsamic dressing. The side this week is a gardener’s girl soup which was a mix of organic, local or fresh veggies. I picked up the asparagus from my favorite local family. Oh and psssttt… this meal was naturally gluten free, and optional vegan/vegetarian 🙂
